Barcelona are considering a shock move for Feyenord forward Dirk Kuyt, according to the Express.
The Catalan club are currently under a transfer embargo, but will be once again able to sign players when the window reopens in January.
With star man Lionel Messi set to miss up to two months with a knee injury, the La Liga champions are thin on the ground and manager Luis Enrique is keen to bring in cover.
The potential addition of former Liverpool man would be reminiscent of when Barca signed Henrik Laarson from Celtic in 2004.
Since returning to Feyenord in June, Kuyt has scored six goals in nine appearances in all competitions.
Prior to his switch back to his native Netherlands, the thirty-five year old had years in Turkey with Fenerbache having been on Merseyside for six seasons.
He won one hundred and four caps for his country, scoring twenty-four goals.
