Spanish daily newspaper AS has suggested that La Liga champions Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Southampton full-back Cedric Soares.
The Catalans are in the market for a new right-sided defender and they are currently looking at a number of high-profile footballers.
Barcelona officials were hoping to see Cedric in action against Inter Milan yesterday evening, but the Portugal international was missing through injury.
Nevertheless, the Catalans will continue to scout their target ahead of the January transfer window and then decide whether he would be a good addition to the squad at Camp Nou.
Cedric Soares had snubbed several top sides in favour of joining Southampton last summer, but he has done really well since arriving from Sporting CP.
The 25-year-old has so far made 31 Premier League appearances for the Saints, while he also helped Portugal lift the Euro 2016 trophy last July.
