Barcelona are weighing up a potential swoop for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Catalunya Radio.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains the undisputed first choice between the posts for the La Liga title holders, but Jasper Cillessen, who has only made 28 appearances for almost three years and has never received a proper chance of challenging Ter-Stegen despite being a regular Netherlands international, has been linked with departure. Should that happen, Barcelona would be in need of a quality backup option, and Onana, 22, might be willing to act as one for a while.
The young Cameroonian started his football journey at the Samuel Eto’o Foundation and joined Barca’s La Masia academy at the age of 13. Five years later he made his move to Ajax, and became a regular member of the first team in 2016.
It is believed the Catalan giants would have to part with a sum of around €20 million for his services.
