Spanish giants FC Barcelona have shown interest in Russia and Zenit attacker Andrei Arshavin.
Arshavin have left a big impression this season by helping Zenit to win the UEFA Cup and playing a big part in Russia’s presence in the semi finals stage of Euro 2008.
Zenit announced on Thursday: “Barcelona have made an official bid to buy Andrei Arshavin. Zenit St Petersburg will only begin negotiations when Andrei returns from the European Championships.”
Arshavin himself has never hidden his interest in a possible move to Barcelona. Earlier this week the youngster spoke about Barcelona.
“I’ve been a fan of that club all my life, although I don’t expect that I’ll ever be able to play there. After Euro 2008, I’d like to leave Zenit, preferably for England or Spain.”
