Spanish daily newspaper Marca claims that Barcelona were ready to offer Angel Di Maria a yearly wage of €10 million.
The Catalans saw the former Real Madrid star as a perfect replacement for Neymar and they were keen on bringing him to Camp Nou.
As a result, Barcelona were prepared to make him third highest paid footballer in the squad behind Leo Messi and Luis Suarez, but they ultimately failed to reach an agreement with PSG.
The Catalans only offered €30 million for the Argentine, which was way below the club’s valuation of the winger.
Di Maria’s place in the starting line-up at Parc des Princes is in danger after both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe joined in the summer transfer window and he may be looking to leave in January.
