According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are set to announce a contract extension for midfielder Sergio Busquets. This saga has been ongoing for a few months now with Sergio’s agent attempting to secure a better deal for the man who has been at the Nou Camp since back in 2005.
The 30-year-old has had a tremendously successful career with the Spanish giants, and it would almost seem odd to consider the possibility of him moving elsewhere. Alas, if this news is to be believed then that won’t have to happen, with Barca being interested in locking him down to a new deal.
The club have been interested in bringing in another new midfielder in the last few months and they’ve made no secret of that, although, over the course of the next few years, it seems likely that Busquets will still have an important role to play both in La Liga and Europe.
