The La Liga giants Barcelona have made firm steps towards securing a deal for the Arsenal star man Hector Bellerin, who has been identified as the primary transfer target, according to reports from the Spanish media outlet Sport.
The Catalans have long been linked with a move for their former player and La Masia graduate, but it is the first time that Barcelona’s plans are revealed in the media.
According to Sport, Barcelona have already approached Bellerin’s agent and talks are underway. Furthermore, Sport believe that La Liga powerhouse are willing to exceed the €40 million mark to land the highly-rated right-back.
Most importantly, Barcelona have set the timetable for Bellerin’s deal to be done as it is revealed that the Catalans plan to approach Arsenal directly after the Easter period, when Arsene Wenger is expected to finally reveal whether he will be staying or leaving at the end of the season.
Barcelona feel this decision will be pivotal in their talks with Bellerin, who could be tempted to leave much easier if Wenger is no longer around at the Emirates.
