Barcelona have opened negotiations to sign Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to Sport.
The La Liga champions have decided to make some changes to the defensive segment of their squad, and one of those changes will apparently be on the left defensive flank. Unimpressed with the way Junior Firpo has adapted, they will now attempt to sell him in order to make way for Kurzawa. The PSG man would then be expected to provide a decent level of competition for the so far undisputed first choice, Jordi Alba.
The 27-year-old Frenchman made a total of 23 appearances in all competitions this season, but only in the Coupe de France has he started most of the games played. He mostly hasn’t been a started either in Ligue 1 or in the Champions League.
Kurzawa recently changed his agent and he’s now working with Kia Joorabchian, who has a good working relationship with Barcelona after playing a part in their moves for Philippe Coutinho and Neto.
