Barcelona optimistic about Ousmane Dembele renewal

Barcelona are optimistic that Ousmane Dembele will sign a new contract and not join Chelsea, according to Sport. The France international forward is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, and the La Liga giants have offered him a good three-year deal.

Catalan outfit Barcelona are optimistic that Dembele’s agents will be convinced by their offer. Chelsea, who won the Champions League last season, are keen on signing the 24-year-old on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and have even offered him a big signing-on fee.

Dembele has been on the books of Barcelona since 2017 when he joined from German club Borussia Dortmund. Much was expected of Dembele at Camp Nou, but the fast and tricky attacker has failed to make a massive impact due to his persistent injury problems.
