According to a recent report from Sport, Barcelona are interested in extending the managerial contract of Xavi.
At this moment in time, Xavi’s current contract would keep him at the Nou Camp until 2024. Under the new terms, however, he would extend his stay even further to 2026.
The former midfield maestro took a bit of time to settle upon getting the job but now, he’s thriving in every way imaginable. Barca are sitting pretty in La Liga, they are in the semi-finals of the Copa de Rey, and they are still one of the favourites to win the Europa League.
We all know that things aren’t guaranteed to last forever, especially given the financial difficulties that Barcelona have experienced in years gone by. With that being said, Xavi has a clear passion for this club and it’s obvious to see he has a direction in mind.
Who knows, maybe this could be the start of a new dynasty.
