Barcelona prepare for overhaul

Barcelona have let themselves down once again. After a shock loss to Roma last season, they repeated the embarrassment with a 4-0 loss at Anfield this Tuesday and now Spanish media claim Blaugrana is heading for a squad overhaul this summer.

According to AS, numerous players will leave the club once the season ends, in what will be a way to make a somewhat new squad, but also to raise the money for necessary transfers to be done. Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jeison Murillo will return to their clubs after their loans expire, while Thomas Vermaelen will not get a new contract at the club, AS claim.

The second choice goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen will be given permission to go if Barca receive 30m in transfer fees, while the Brazilian Malcom has been far from what Barcelona need and 35m would be good enough for the club to sell him.

In addition, Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, Rafinha and Denis Suarez could all make way this summer as well.
