Catalan daily newspaper Sport understands that Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to recruit Brazilian defender Marquinhos from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Catalans have long been hot on the trail of the talented defender and they have finally decided to make their interest concrete.
Barcelona officials already have an excellent relationship with his agents having met a number of times over the last couple of years and they are reportedly ready to start the bidding at more than €30 million.
The problem is that Paris Saint-Germain see Marquinhos as an important player for the future and has no intention of selling, especially to Champions League rivals.
However, they may have no choice but to negotiate a deal with the Catalans if the defender requests a transfer, and his representative recently hinted his client was unhappy with his status at the squad.
Besides Marquinhos, Barcelona are also looking at Aymeric Laporte, Jose Maria Gimenez and Eric Bailly.
