Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that Barcelona have rekindled their interest in Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo.
With Sergi Roberto suffering a dip in form and Aleix Vidal picking up a serious injury, the Catalans will be signing a new right back in the summer.
Joao Cancelo has long been their number one target and it would appear as though the Catalans are ready to launch a fresh assault on the Valencia defender.
Barcelona officials had enquired about his price during talks for Andre Gomes, but didn’t have enough money to complete the transfer last summer.
The Catalans’ financial situation has since improved and while the technical department will wait for Luis Enrique’s successor before making a move on Cancelo, everything suggests the Portuguese footballer will be moving to Camp Nou at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old amassed a total of 65 La Liga appearances for Valencia since joining from Benfica, scoring 1 goal in the process.
