According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, both Real Madrid and Barcelona could attempt to bring in Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager during next summer’s transfer window. The Argentine was recently sacked from his position as Tottenham Hotspur manager following a poor start to the campaign, and in his place came Jose Mourinho. The move certainly surprised a lot of supporters who felt like it was a bit of a slap in the face to Pochettino, especially just a few months removed from him guiding them to the Champions League Final.
Barca and Real have both made unsteady starts to the new season in their own right, so a move for Poch doesn’t seem all too unrealistic – but then again, there is a long way to go before we reach next summer. For better or worse, Pochettino may have to wait it out before taking on his next role.
