According to Sport, Barcelona’s technical director Ramon Planes travelled to France on Tuesday in order to scout out Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The 21 year old, who already has a handful of caps for the French national team, put in an impressive shift against Manchester City as Lyon pushed them all the way towards a draw.
Barca have had their eye on him for a while but he hasn’t been right at the top of their wish list, and in truth, he still isn’t. Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot are both still in the eye line of the Spanish champions so any potential deal is still a long way off, despite how well he’s been playing lately.
Barca seem to be looking for a midfielder who will be a consistent force in the middle of the park for many years to come, with there being less and less talk about Paul Pogba in recent weeks.
