One of the hottest defensive prospects in European football Victor Lindelof was thought to be heading to Manchester United this winter, after it was claimed that the Benfica defender accepted a deal from Jose Mourinho’s team.
The Portugal giants have reportedly been negotiating a deal with Manchester United on transfer deadline day, but it appears that the Red Devils might have missed their chance to sign the talented defender after failing to agree on the price.
Portugal media outlet Ojogo has splashed a headline on their cover page on Tuesday, claiming that the Catalan giants have come to watch the Swedish international ready to ruin Manchester United’s deal for the centre-back.
Barcelona sent a scout to watch Lindelof in action against Nacional last weekend and that the la Liga champions could step up the chase to steal the defender under Manchester United’s noses next summer.
Lindelof has this season made 19 Primeira Liga appearances this season for Benfica, all of which were starts.
