According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are reserving a budget of £30 million to try and sign Robert Lewandowski this summer.
This news comes in the wake of apparent confirmation that the Polish forward is, in fact, willing to leave Bayern Munich ahead of next season in search of pastures new.
The official word from Bayern themselves continues to be that they don’t want to sell him, but given his age and how much money is on the table, you’d have to think they would at the very least consider an offer.
Xavi is clearly trying to do everything in his power to get Barca back to where he believes they deserve to be and while that process is going to take time, bringing in a powerhouse like Lewandowski to guide them up top could be a key call.
Bayern, meanwhile, need to start the process of looking for a replacement.
