Tottenham Hotspur midfield maestro Christian Eriksen has emerged as one of the top transfer targets to Barcelona, according to reports from Don Balon.
The Spanish media outlet reports that Ernesto Valverde eyes Spurs star as the ideal candidate to fill in the vacant role in the Barcelona midfielder and a perfect alternative for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
The Catalan giants have been linked with Coutinho but also Arsenal man Mesut Ozil, but it is now reported that Eriksen is top of their wish list for January.
Barcelona are said to believe the 25-year-old Denmark star is yet to fulfil his full potential and that he would be a wiser investment than Coutinho and Ozil.
Eriksen has been enjoying an impressive run of form this season both for his club and country.
He scored four goals and registered three assists for Tottenham thus far, whereas he added a hat-trick in the World Cup playoffs to book Denmark’s ticket to Russia next summer.
