Catalan daily newspaper Sport claims that Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Gimnastic Tarragona youngster Josep Calavera.
The Catalans have been impressed with the midfielder’s performances and they believe he could prove a decent successor to Sergio Busquets.
Despite being on the radar of Real Madrid and Valencia, Calavera is keen on joining Barcelona, who reportedly have a deal in place to sign the youngster in the summer.
The central midfielder will be added to Barcelona B squad, where he will get a chance to test his skills in Spain’s third tier, or maybe play in Segunda seeing that the Catalans currently lead the chase in Segunda B Group 3.
Having seen top Spanish clubs cast admiring glances towards Calavera, Gimnastic Tarragona officials decided to tie the player down to a professional contract in January, making sure they will be entitled to a decent transfer fee when the midfielder moves to Camp Nou.
