Barcelona show interest in Moreno

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have their eye on Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno. The Spaniard, who made the jump to Anfield back in 2014 from Sevilla, is being viewed as the possible ‘next in line’ defender to take Jordi Alba’s role courtesy of Barca’s desire to bring more Spanish stars into the club. Andy Robertson is currently keeping Moreno out of the first team with Liverpool, and while it may seem odd that Barcelona are looking into buying him, they’ve certainly been able to make this kind of deal work in the past.

Moreno’s contract with Liverpool expires next summer, meaning that Barca could easily wait until then before trying to pick him up on a free transfer. At this moment in time the 26 year old seems content with staying put and fighting for his place, although when a club like Barcelona comes calling, it’s hard to turn away from an opportunity like that.
