A report by Spanish outlet AS seems to suggest Barcelona are still interested in signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.
The two teams met at the Camp Nou on Wednesday in a Champions League game which the Blaugrana won by 2-1, but they were forced to come back from behind after Martinez put Inter ahead in the third minute. It took a brilliant second-half brace from Luis Suarez to ensure the three points would be staying in Catalonia. Martinez almost doubled his team’s lead later in the first half, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal made a fine save.
An as claimed by AS, the goal Martinez scored served as a reminder of why Barcelona want to sign the Argentine striker, who was linked with the Catalans over the summer. With the turnaround hero Suarez turning 33 in January, the La Liga title holders are keen on securing a long-term successor for the controversial Uruguayan, who has recently been linked with a return to Liverpool.
