According to Corriere dello Sport, Barcelona are still willing to spend big in order to secure the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly. The Napoli defender recently had an £88 million price tag slapped on his head by the Italian club, but it appears as if the Spanish giants are more than willing to fork out that kind of cash if it means improving their defensive options.
It’s no secret that Barca have injuries right now, but it’s interesting to note that they’re willing to push on with such a big transfer during the January window. Usually moves of this magnitude are reserved for the summer in order to give the player in question some time to adjust, but it appears as if Barca’s desire to make such a move is taking priority over anything else.
Napoli reportedly hoped the price tag would throw them off the scent, but that hasn’t proven to be the case.
