Barcelona have been heavily linked with Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan in recent months. They failed to sign a striker in the January transfer window to replace the injured Luis Suarez, and Ousmane Dembele being ruled out for the rest of the season has only added to their woes. They are reportedly trying to rectify the situation at the moment, under special rules which allow them to sign a replacement for Dembele outside of transfer windows, and several names have been mentioned in that aspect. However, those rules only allow signings to be made from Spain, which means their move for Martinez, if there is to be one, will have to wait at least until the summer.
But according to Marca, the La Liga champions haven’t given up on the 22-year-old Argentinian, who so far has 16 goals and four assists in 27 games for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this season. His services are set to cost them the full €110 million, the amount set in the buyout clause of his contract.
