Barcelona still want Weigl

According to a recent report from Sport, Barcelona are once again believed to be interested in the signing of Julian Weigl. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder could be available during next summer’s transfer window, with Barca going in search of midfield reinforcements of some description. 

Barca have long since had a strong strength in depth within their squad and that much is obvious, but recently, it doesn’t seem like they’ve had quite as much trust in that idea as usual. They’re still a team that is incredibly capable of making big things happen in both domestic and European competition, but they’re starting to realise that not all of their biggest names are going to come up through the system anymore. 

Weigl is on form, and he’s the sort of character that Barca needs right now. Whether or not he’d feature heavily from the word go, however, is another matter altogether as this rumour continues to gather steam.
