Barcelona are set to hold ‘crunch’ talks with Ousmane Dembele, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The French winger has had some serious issues with discipline and time-keeping, which apparently led to him being left out of the squad for the Blaugrana’s defeat to Real Betis at the weekend. Quite apart from that, the former Borussia Dortmund player has reportedly also been been warned about his attitude by France national team coach Didier Deschamps.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou recently, with a number of clubs, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain all reportedly interested in his services. However, his relatively bleak first season in Catalonia saw him wear the club shirt just 23 times in all competitions and score four goals. He has done a lot better this season (six goals in 15 games), but Barcelona would still likely be forced to take a significant loss on the €105million plus add-ons they paid for his services, should they decide to part ways.
Therefore, it’s to be expected they will try and get him to buckle down and improve his discipline, before considering such drastic measures.
