Apparently, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid, who are reportedly queuing to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, are willing to meet the French club’s asking price of €250 million for the Brazilian forward, and both are trying to figure out a deal which would include other players. With only about two weeks remaining before the closing of the transfer window, only Barcelona have had talks with the Ligue 1 champions regarding the matter.
But the meeting between the two clubs, held on Tuesday, didn’t end in an agreement. AS have relayed La Parisien’s claim that Barcelona want to include not only Coutinho in the exchange, but also wish to offload Arturo Vidal as part of the deal. Although the 32-year-old had a good season with the club, there is apparently a surplus of midfielders at Camp Nou, and the Catalans are willing to make the sacrifice in order to re-sign the Brazilian.
Nevertheless, the stumbling block is that Barcelona are willing to pay only €60 million, while PSG will accept no monetary fee below €100 million. Despite PSG’s initial demand for Neymar, the club are evidently willing to lower the price in order to bring other quality players to their team.
