Barcelona are considering a move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to Sport (via Mirror).
The Catalan club have already profited from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting his Arsenal contract terminated in January, and they’re said to be contemplating the prospect of reuniting the Gabonese with his former teammate from his days in North London. Lacazette’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and there has still been no report of a new one being discussed. Apparently, he would represent a much cheaper alternative to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
Meanwhile, it should be said that Lacazette’s role at Arsenal has become much more important since Aubameyang left, coinciding with the upsurge in form and results Mikel Arteta’s team has gone through over the last two months. Therefore, it remains to be seen just how much the Frenchman would be keen to play with Aubameyang again if Barcelona do make their move in that direction.
