Barcelona to step up Adeyemi pursuit?

Barcelona are very keen on signing Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg, according to Sport1.

Having moved through several academy setups in Germany, Adeyemi joined Salzburg straight from Unterhaching’s Under-19 side in the summer of 2018 and spent 18 months on loan at FC Liefering, before returning to be given a proper chance at the club. The 19-year-old striker has been on very good form this season, both in the Austrian Bundesliga and the Champions League, scoring 15 goals and producing two assists in 22 matches in all competitions.

His talents have attracted the attention of the likes of Borussia Dortmund, who are apparently willing to pay as much as €35 million for his services, while Thomas Salomon, the player’s representative with whom Barcelona have already met, demands wages of €5m per year for his client. Liverpool have been credited with interest as well.

On the other hand, Salzburg are currently expressing a firm stance that Adeyemi, a senior Germany international already, is going nowhere this winter.
