Barcelona are set to step up their efforts to secure the services of Chelsea defenders Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta in the coming days, according to Sport.
Both Azpilicueta and Christensen are set to run out of contract with the Champions League holders at the end of the season, and they’re already at liberty to discuss potential free transfers with clubs outside England.
The Catalan outlet claims that Barcelona already have an agreement with Azpilcueta over a three-year deal in place, and they expect the 32-year-old Chelsea captain to come in and improve their options on the right defensive flank.
There is, however, still work to do regarding Christensen, as the Blaugrana took some time recently to consider other centre-back options, before eventually deciding to go for the 25-year-old Denmark international. Even though he has offers from elsewhere on his table, they believe him still to be keen on moving to Camp Nou.
