Barcelona uncertain over Wijnaldum

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona sources have made it clear Georginio Wijnaldum has not signed a pre-contract agreement with the club.

Reports on Sunday seemed to go against that logic by indicating the Dutchman had made up his mind about his future, and his decision was clear – he would be leaving Liverpool in favour of jumping ship to the Nou Camp during the summer transfer window.

It feels like this is being done to throw the press off the scent but right now, the story is out there, and it’s been out there for quite some time in one way or the other.

Barca are attempting to rebuild their squad in a way that’ll allow them to challenge both domestically and in Europe. Wijnaldum, based on how he performs when he’s at his very best, could be the key to that in midfield – but this transfer sounds more complicated than most of us realised.
