According to a recent report from Mundo Deprotivo, Barcelona will not agree to the sale of Philippe Coutinho for anything less than £87 million. The Brazilian is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, but neither of the two sides are said to be interested in keeping him on the books.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the former Liverpool star in recent weeks, but the belief is that it’s anyone’s ball game at this point in proceedings.
The fee, which translates to roughly €100 million, is likely being added due to just how much Barca paid for him in the first place. It may seem excessive but when Coutinho is able to play to his full potential, there’s still an argument to be made that he’s one of the best players in world football.
Of course, we first have to wait and see how things transpire with the actual transfer window.
