Barcelona want Kampl

According to Sport, Barcelona are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Kevin Kampl. The 27-year-old, who bounced around a series of German clubs before signing for Leipzig last season, has made quite the impression over the last twelve months or so after living up to his potential in Bundesliga in more ways than one.

The report suggests that Barcelona want to sign him in order to give themselves some strength in depth in the middle of the park, with Kampl being their primary target. There have been a series of questions surrounding Barca’s midfield throughout the course of the summer transfer window, and with just days remaining until it closes, the club will have to move quickly if they want to bring someone else in.

The Spanish giants got their La Liga campaign off to a convincing start last weekend, defeating Alaves 3-0 courtesy of goals from Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho.
