Barcelona want Lovren?

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are interested in signing Dejan Lovren in what could prove to be one of the more shocking big transfers of the last few years. Courtesy of injuries to Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti they’ll be searching for more defensive cover in January, and Lovren could be their man.

The Croat has been a ‘hot and cold’ type of player for Liverpool, making several mistakes throughout his tenure there whilst also having several world class performances. He is often ridiculed courtesy of his own belief in his abilities, to the point where he once called himself the best defender in the world.

Barca have been known to make transfers out of left field in the past but this would certainly turn a lot of heads, especially at Anfield given that Lovren is currently playing a big part in helping Liverpool to push Manchester City in the title race.
