Barcelona are said to be readying themselves for another round of talks with Paris Saint-Germain – but this time not about Neymar.
Sport (via Express) reports the Catalan club are interested in the 17-year-old Adil Aouchiche, who is France’s youth international. Barcelona have reportedly sent their scouts to monitor the midfielder in the Under-17 World Cup, which is taking place in Brazil.
Aouchiche is a PSG academy graduate who made his professional debut in August, in a league win against Metz. However, he was much more prominent in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, and will be remembered for his goal-scoring ability after scoring nine times in five matches – in spite of the fact that he is a midfielder.
The report also claims the youngster has not yet signed a professional contract with PSG and suggests he will be available for a small fee in the summer.
Barcelona have tried hard to bring back PSG’s Neymar, but the lengthy negotiations failed during the summer due to the player’s extremely large price tag. It will be interesting, however, to see how the negotiations between the two football giants will play out this time around.
