Barcelona are interested in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, according to Sport.
The Catalan giants have missed out on long-term target Luka Jović who is about to sign for their arch-rivals Real Madrid, and they’ve been left still in search of a young, versatile attacking player that has the ability of eventually being the long-term successor of Luis Suarez. It won’t be easy for any player to step into the shoes of the brilliant Uruguayan, but at 21, Rashford certainly has loads of talent and pace, and packs a fantastic finishing ability coupled with excellent dead-ball skills.
And apparently, that is exactly what Barca head coach Ernesto Valverde seeks in a potential new addition to his forward options. The report also claims that the talks between the two clubs have already begun as Barcelona continue their efforts of a squad rebuild with what they call “the Rashford option”.
Rashford’s contract is set to enter its final 12 months this summer, but United do have the option of extending it until 2021, unless the England international makes it clear he wants to leave, they will be in no hurry to sell.
