According to a recent report from AS, Barcelona are planning a loan move for Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek.
The midfielder hasn’t quite been able to catch lightning in a bottle during his time at Old Trafford and that, in many ways, is an understatement. He just hasn’t been given the kind of consistent time in the first team with Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Fred all being favoured by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It makes sense for him to leave in search of pastures new but it appears as if the club doesn’t want to say goodbye to him on a permanent basis – or at least, just yet.
Barcelona need to try and come up with a few unique ideas in order to start competing in La Liga again and while van de Beek would be a risk given how low his confidence must be, he’ll also have a point to prove.
