Barcelona wanted to sign Ferran Torres from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to Sport. It has been reported that the Spanish and European giants made an attempt to bring the 21-year-old winger to Camp Nou, but they failed.
City manager Pep Guardiola rates Torres highly, and the defending Premier League champions did not want to sell the Spain international and told Barcelona so. The Spaniard is a winger by trade, but under Guardiola, he has played as a striker.
Torres has scored two goals and provided one assist in four Premier League matches and has played once in the Champions League for City so far this season. The youngster scored seven goals and gave two assists in 15 Premier League starts and scored four goals in four Champions League starts for the Citizens last season.
