Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to face his old club Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final on April 20, two weeks after suffering a leg injury, his club said Thursday.
The 28-year-old Swede injured a thigh muscle as he warmed up for Barca’s match against Athletic Bilbao on April 3.
He trained with the squad on Thursday, and could return to the pitch in the derby match against Espanyol this weekend, Barcelona said.
He missed Barca’s 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg and their 2-0 defeat of Real Madrid in ‘El Clasico’ on Saturday.
Ibrahimovic was signed from Inter Milan last summer on a five-year deal which involved Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o moving the other way and the Italian side receiving 46 million euros as well as Alexander Hleb on loan.
Barca currently lead the Primera Liga, six points ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid, who play Almeria on Thursday.
