Tottenham Hotspur are ready to reignite their interest in signing Everton’s Ross Barkley when the tranfer window reopens, according to the Mirror.
Premier League champions Chelsea will also attempt to secure the services of the England international, who is yet to appear for the Toffees this season due to injury.
Barkley was strongly liked with a move to North London during the summer though a deal was not agreed, and his value is sure to be plummeting as he nears the end of his current contract.
Tottenham may have the edge in the pursuit of the twenty-three year old with manager Mauricio Pochettino’s record of working with England midfielders, with fellow Three Lions’ regulars Dele Alli and Eric Dier excelling under the guidance of the Argentinian.
Barkley has played one hundred and seventy-nine times in all appearances for Everton since turning professional, scoring twenty-seven goals while he has twice been named the club’s Young Player of the Year.
