Barkley signs for Nice

Nice have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Ross Barkley, announcing him to the crowd before their game against Monaco.

Barkley’s contract with Chelsea Football Club was terminated earlier this week, opening him up to the possibility of a move elsewhere. The decision was taken by Nice to go after him, adding to the recent invasion of former Premier League stars they’ve been on lately.

Aaron Ramsey, Kasper Schmeichel and Nicolas Pepe have all signed for Nice, with the hope being that Barkley can rediscover the form that initially revived his career upon making the move to Aston Villa.

Barkley isn’t considered to be in his prime by many but within the context of French football’s top flight, as well as the squad Nice have been able to put together, it’s not hard to picture a world in which he’s able to have a strong few years out there.
