Competition: EFL Cup
Market: Barnsley win and both teams to score
Odds: 3/1 @ Bet 365
Two sides who have enjoyed an impressive start to their new domestic campaigns, Barnsley will travel to Boundary Park on Tuesday night looking to book their spot in the next round of the EFL Cup.
Starting with the hosts, although it might have been a difficult start in League Two for Frankie Bunn’s side that also saw them crash out of the League Cup at the hands of Derby, Oldham have battled back well. Coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Crawley, The Latics are now unbeaten in their last four outings. Winning three of those matchups, it will be their form in the final third most impressing Bunn. 25-year-old Gevaro Nepomuceno now has two in his last two and will certainly be a man to watch for Tuesday’s hosts.
As for the visitors, while Barnsley may have been relegated from the Championship last season, The Reds are enjoying their start to life in the third division. Coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Gillingham, Daniel Stendel’s side are now unbeaten in their last four and now sit third in the table entering September. Scoring eight in their last three, one man to watch for the visitors will be League One’s leading goalscorer Kieffer Moore. The Barnsley striker now has six in his opening six games.
