Talk Sport are reporting that Joey Barton has told Queens Park Rangers that he wants to leave the club and is not happy with the way he is being treated.
Barton of course is currently in the middle of a twelve match ban after his actions in the final game of the last English Premier League season against Manchester City.
It seems as though Mark Hughes is keen to get rid of the Englishman, but Barton himself took to his twitter page to tell people he wants to leave London and try and revive his career somewhere else.
He wrote: “I am hopeful that things will be sorted out soon. Other clubs are in but I only want to play in Marseille. This is the place for me.”
The midfielder has been stripped of the captaincy at Loftus Road and has his squad number taken away – both of which suggest he is on his way out in the summer transfer window.
Ligue 1 club Marseille have been reportedly weighing up the possibility of a loan deal for Barton but it all comes down to his wages, which at QPR are high.
On his day and if his attitude is right, Barton can be a very good player that would be a good addition to any squad, but he must be managed in the correct manor.
