According to Sky Sports, Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton is set to offer Ched Evans a new lease of footballing life by allowing the 29-year-old to move to the club. They’re said to be in advanced talks with Evans after a great deal of speculation surrounding his future after Evans was unable to break his way back into the Sheffield United first team. The Welshman’s career has been littered with controversy as most people know, but his resurgence with Chesterfield led to a second chance being given to him by the Blades.
While he hasn’t quite made the most of it as of yet he’s certainly got an opportunity to make some noise with Fleetwood, with the deal reportedly being a season-long loan deal if it does indeed go through. Chris Wilder believes that the loan move would help Evans and would allow him to get some regular first-team football.
