Bartra rejects exit talk

Barcelona defender Marc Bartra has made it clear that he is perfectly happy at Camp Nou and he doesn’t plan to leave the club in the near future.

With the player’s current deal due to expire in less than a year, the 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club, with a number of top European sides believed to be keen.

Tottenham and Inter Milan were among the sides showing interest in the Barcelona youth product, but he has now moved to reject the transfer talk.

“Being able to play here is a reward for many years at the training centre,” Bartra told Barcelona TV.

“I am more comfortable than in the past because this time I feel the confidence of the coach, who made us realize there were no untouchables.”

Marc Bartra has been deputizing for injured Javier Mascherano over the last couple of weeks and has already scored a goal in three league appearances this season.

The centre-back was one of team’s star performers in weekend’s 4-1 victory over Real Valladolid, once again proving that he has all the qualities needed to succeed at Camp Nou.
