Wolfsburg have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of forward Bas Dost from Heerenveen.
The Dutch forward has signed a five-year deal after the two clubs reached an agreement over the transfer fee.
The highly rated striker signed a long-term deal with the Bundesliga outfit after passing a medical on Friday.
The 23-year-old was followed by a number of high-profile clubs following an impressive season in Dutch Eredivisie, but eventually opted for the Bundesliga giants.
Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath believes the striker will have a big role to play in team’s quest for honours.
“Bas has developed a great deal in recent years,” Felix Magath told club’s official website.
“He is extremely dangerous in the box and a strong player who knows where opponent’s goal is at all times. I am convinced he will have an important role with us.”
The arrival of Dost probably means that one of Mario Mandzukic and Patrick Helmes will leave the club in the near future.
The Dutch international faces a tough task of proving his worth in Bundesliga after scoring 32 goals in 34 Eredivisie matches this term.
