Portuguese daily newspaper Record has suggested that AC Milan are hot on the trail of Sporting CP striker Bas Dost.

It is no secret that the Rossoneri are looking to sign a proven goalscorer this summer and latest reports suggest the Dutch footballer has emerged as their top target.

Record claims the first contacts have already been made as AC Milan hope to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.

Bas Dost has been in stunning form ever since he joined Sporting CP from Wolfsburg, bagging 61 goals in as many league appearances.

However, having struggled for playing time on international stage, the 28-year-old last month announced his decision to retire from international football.
