Competition: Swiss Super League

Market: Basel win and Both teams to score

Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365

Despite suffering three losses on the bounce during their pre-season preparations, Raphaël Wicky’s Basel side will be desperate to get off to a winning start of defending their Swiss crown when they welcome St Gallen to St. Jakob-Park.

Starting with Raphaël Wicky’s side, although The Reds are coming off the back of a 5-0 loss to Dutch giants Feyenoord, extending their three-match losing run, Basel are an overwhelming favorite to pick up their 13th Super League title. After averaging nearly three goals per game last season, Basel will be hoping that 21-year-old striker Albian Ajeti can carry on where he finished off last season. After scoring 17 goals in 25 appearances last year the Albanian topped the goalscoring charts and has attracted interest from across Europe.

As for St Gallen, although the visitors lost their last seven games of the season, The Greens managed to somehow avoid the drop and after only managing to win one of their pre-season matches, it could be another long season for Peter Zeidler side. Remarkably losing their last eight Super League matches at Kybun Park, they also shipped three or more goals in five of those outings. They also boast an awful record against Basel, losing eight of the last 10 meetings, St Gallen have conceded 29 goals in those eight defeats.
