Basel are interested in signing Loris Karius from Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to a report in The Liverpool Echo. Karius is out of contract at the Premier League giants at the end of the season, and Swiss club Basel want to sign him in January.
Karius is now the fourth-choice goalkeeper at Liverpool after Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian. It is unlikely that the 28-year-old German goalkeeper will get the chance to play another competitive match for the Reds.
It would make sense for the 28-year-old to leave Liverpool in the middle of the season and move to Basel if the Swiss club are keen on him. Karius would get regular playing time at Basel and would get his career back on track.
