Udinese full-back Dusan Basta says he is proud to have been linked with a club like AS Roma.
Il Corriere dello Sport recently suggested that the Giallorossi were showing interest in the Serbian defender as they continue to search for a new right-back.
The player has now moved to confirm reports linking him with a move to Stadio Olimpico, admitting that he flattered by the reported interest in his services.
“I am aware (of the interest) and it gives me great pleasure,” Basta confessed to Il Corriere dello Sport.
“Knowing that a club as big as the Giallorossi think of me makes me proud.”
The 28-year-old then revealed that he could be leaving Udinese at the end of the current campaign.
“Let’s see what happens between now and June, in the summer…I might change my team.”
Dusan Basta joined Udinese from Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda in the summer of 2008, but a difficult injury prevented him from staking his claim for a regular starting berth at Stadio Friuli.
The Serbian international finally established himself as a first team regular at the start of last season and has since been indispensable in Francesco Guidolin’s side.
Over the last two seasons, Basta has made 50 Serie A appearances for the Zebrette and scored no less than 6 goals.
