Bastos rejects claims that he is leaving Lyon

Lyon midfielder Michel Bastos has denied claims that he has requested a move to Juventus.

The Bianconeri have been weighing up move for the Brazilian wide man and the player’s agent has recently admitted they were in talks with the Old Lady.

That revelation seems to have angered Lyon fans, although Bastos is adamant he never requested a move to the Turin giants.

”I never stated that I wanted to join Juventus,” Bastos told L’Equipe.

”The fans are upset and I can understand that, but I have never said anything to the press.

“Now I am just working hard for the team. If the fans can support me again, that would be great.

”I still feel as though I have a lot to prove, whether that is at Lyon or somewhere else.”
